Enfield Manor Addition, Enfield, NS

This project was initiated for the purposes of designing a 10,000 sq. ft. two-storey addition to the existing Enfield Manor building in order to provide extra residential capacity for seniors and physically restricted individuals.

HEC was appointed as the project structural and civil consultants, and as the overall project lead consultant, responsible for multi-disciplinary co-ordination between the different design team disciplines.

The addition building structure featured a new 3,500lb capacity elevator to be installed in a primarily wood framed structure with some structural steel elements constructed on reinforced concrete spread footings.

Other main project features included the diversion of an existing sewer line, two (2) new propane tanks, site fuel lines and a new building sprinkler system to encompass both the existing building and addition.

Construction drawings were completed for each design discipline in the summer of 2014, with construction expected to commence in the fall of the same year.
